Moo Ka spent nearly eight years living on a short chain outside a condo. Last year his owners abandoned him, leaving him chained up with no one to care for him. A Burmese construction worker across the street felt sorry for him and fed him every day. When the construction job finished and the worker had to return to Myanmar, he posted about Moo Ka on Facebook, worried the dog would be left with nothing.
Sofia saw the post and arranged for Moo Ka to be rescued. He was taken straight to Thalang Vet, where a large, heavy tumour was removed from the back of his leg. Thankfully the tumour was benign. Even after years of hardship, Moo Ka turned out to be the sweetest, happiest boy — so grateful for attention and for finally being free of the chain.
He is now living at the sanctuary, continuing his recovery and enjoying life off the chain for the first time.
Because of the years spent on a chain and the weight of the tumour, Moo Ka has lost some muscle in his back legs. This gives him a slightly quirky walk and means he doesn’t need long walks. What makes him happiest is simply being by your side, running around a little, playing, and receiving love.
Moo Ka is a senior gentleman who has never known a real home. He is incredibly popular with everyone at Paws of Freedom, and we are all hoping his perfect people see this and can offer him the peaceful retirement home he so deserves. If you can’t adopt him yourself, please share his story so the right family can find him.
Health & Care
A large, heavy tumour was successfully removed from the back of Moo Ka’s leg at Thalang Vet, and thankfully it was benign. Because of the years spent on a chain and the weight of that tumour, he has lost some muscle in his back legs. This gives him a slightly quirky walk and means he doesn’t need long walks — gentle movement suits him perfectly.
